A fast, streamlined CMS built on MVC.Net

A Content Management System(CMS) provides the ability to update your own website with fresh new content with out the need for a developer. First released in 2003, Umbraco is a Free Open Source platform that is presently about to release its 9th version with a .Net Core version still in development. From simple websites to Enterprise Level integrations, Umbraco in my opinion far surpasses its predecessors, including DotNetNuke and WordPress.

What I love about Umbraco

  • Open Source
  • Easy to use
  • Runs fast
  • Built on MVC.Net
  • Does NOT require a database server
  • Coding and Debugging in Visual Studio
  • Can be installed from NuGet
  • Easy to integrate with other Enterprise Systems
  • Code is well maintained and free of malware/viruses
  • Both the front and backends can be extended with your own custom extensions
  • Easily integrated with other data sources via direct dabase connections or APIs
